Wine:

The 2022 White Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a masterful blend of 60% Clairette and Roussanne, offering a harmonious balance of power, depth, and freshness. Precise aging enhances the wine's finesse, revealing delicate notes of anise and fennel that mingle with juicy white fruit aromas. The palate moves gracefully between generosity and tension, driven by remarkable energy and balance. This is a white of true virtuosity—impressive now, but with the potential to evolve beautifully over time.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Two parcels of 2 ha. Lieu-dit "Saint-Préfert", terroir of rolled pebbles, blue clay, gravel and sand. Vinified and aged for 6 months in 12-hl oak foudres aged for 2 wines and in glass globes.

The domaine has now created a grand vin de cru called "Famille Isabel Ferrando", the successor to its elder Saint-Préfert blanc.

Domaine certified organic by Demeter in 2013 and certified biodynamic by Demeter in 2021.

Certified organic wine.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Risotto with shellfish, scrambled egg with truffles, Provençal-style sea bream, pan-fried foie gras with citrus fruit.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030, and beyond for enthusiasts.

Since Isabel Ferrando took the reins in 2002, Domaine Saint-Préfert has become one of the most sought-after and acclaimed names in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Located in the southern part of the appellation, the estate embodies all the hallmarks of excellence: biodynamic farming, massal selection, meticulous vinification with native yeasts, and carefully managed ageing.

The vineyard itself spans nearly all of Châteauneuf’s geological profiles, and Isabel—now joined by her daughter Guillemette—brings incredible energy to her work. The result is red wines of remarkable freshness and elegance, and whites that are every bit as charming—arguably among the very best in the region.
