The 2023 Red Mercurey Vieilles Vignes is a beautifully crafted Pinot Noir, balancing rich, ripe flavors with just the right touch of oak. Hints of balsamic and a subtle influence from its aging add depth, while time in the bottle will bring even greater harmony. Full and satisfying, with smooth, well-structured tannins, it’s a wine to enjoy over the next 5 to 6 years with dishes like duck breast or roast beef. Hand harvested. 100% de-stemmed, 20-day vatting period, cold and warm maceration. Aged for 13 months in 228-litre oak barrels, of which 30% are new and 70% are 1, 2, 3 and 4 years old. Production of 10,000 bottles.The vines are 60 years old, on 2 hectares of clay-limestone soil.
