The estate and the wine |
The Domaine Alain Gras, the crowning jewel of Saint-Romain, has been thriving insolently through the decades. This flagship estate, which has elevated the appellation's presence on the menus of the finest Michelin-starred restaurants, passionately and fervently champions the wines of the Côte de Beaune, also owning vineyards in Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, and Pommard.
Today, the legacy is confidently carried on by Arthur Gras, the son of the house. Without a doubt, he will continue to produce straightforward, impeccably crafted, and immediately delightful wines, capable of standing toe-to-toe with the greatest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. |

The 2022 white Auxey-Duresses Les Crais is a quintessential Chardonnay, striking a subtle balance between fruit and freshness. The aroma opens with tones of white flowers and citrus, set against a very pleasant toasted wood background. On the palate, there is an ideal balance between roundness and vibrancy, guided by a beautiful minerality and a lot of sensuality. A distinguished, refined, and elegant white, best enjoyed over the next 3 to 7 years. |
