The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Solaia is the crown jewel of the Antinori family and a flagship of the global fine wine scene. This 10-hectare wine is perched at 400 meters altitude on a perfectly exposed plot, rooted in a uniquely rich limestone soil.

First produced in 1978, it helped pave the way for the rise of the “Super Tuscans,” alongside icons like Sassicaia and Ornellaia. These wines broke free from traditional appellation rules, drawing inspiration from Bordeaux-style blends. With their depth, texture, and aromatic complexity, they stand shoulder to shoulder with the finest wines of France and the top crus of Napa Valley.
Wine Produced only in the finest vintages, the 2019 IGT Toscana Solaia Red is one of Italy’s greatest wines and a contender for the title of best wine in the world. Its creation follows a meticulous process worthy of the finest Grand Crus, with every detail carefully crafted—from harvest to aging in new French oak. The result speaks for itself: a wine of incredible aromatic complexity, blending black fruits with floral notes, spices, and a hint of tobacco. It has a masterful structure, driven by its terroir. Generous and astonishingly smooth, it reveals its full character, with the limestone soils singing in harmony like never before. The very essence of Tuscany, with an unmatched originality that can both dazzle connoisseurs and captivate newcomers alike. A true masterpiece! Rated 97/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. The grapes were carefully destemmed and sorted. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months in the estate's 16th-century underground cellars.
