The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Domaine des Chasseignes is a new Sancerre address, the brainchild of Aurore Dezat and David Girard. Only five years old, this young upstart offers a short, tightly focused range of wines, mainly for export, that you probably won't have the chance to taste.

The 9 hectares planted on three types of soil - white earth, pebbles and flint - produce mainly white wines, and a handful of reds, whose common DNA is finesse and purity.
Wine With all the natural freshness of the vintage, the 2021 Red Sancerre displays ripe Pinot without excess, in a precise, acidic register. The crisp, sapid, digestible juice we've been looking for is well-asserted, and the sobriety of the ageing completes the picture. Once again, this estate is seductive, offering the full panoply of Pinot fruit and elegance in perfect harmony. A real marvel!
Vinification Hand harvested, destemmed, malolactic fermentation and aged for a minimum of 12 months in stainless steel tanks, wooden trunks and 300 to 500-liter barrels.
