The estate and the wine |
A devoted ambassador of the Languedoc region, Jean-Benoît Cavalier works at Château de Lascaux to produce fruity and biodynamic wines that reflect all the freshness of this highly prized high-altitude terroir.
The limestone and red clay soils and the preserved environment make up the ideal conditions for a perfect production, making the Pic Saint-Loup one of the most popular and sought-after appellations in the Languedoc region. |

A tribute to the limestone of its terroir, the 2022 red Pic Saint-Loup Carra is primarily a highly effective Syrah-Grenache duo. The floral aspect and a hint of smokiness from the Syrah create a rather fresh and precise ensemble. The texture, free from richness or heaviness, unfolds sincerely with fresh, juicy fruit and great balance. This wine is ready to drink within 3 to 5 years and benefits from aeration or decanting before serving to fully release all its aromas. |
