The estate and the wine |
Born in 2009 on the slopes of Vergisson and Davayé, the Domaine David Bienfait embodies the passion and commitment of this young winemaker. With just 6 hectares, he brings out the full splendor of southern Burgundy, producing wines from Pouilly, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Villages.
Respect for the plant, observation, gentle pressing and measured ageing are the key elements in this young grower's success. Simple, meticulous attention to detail results in clean, well-crafted wines that perfectly reflect each appellation. |

Born of hillside vines planted on limestone bedrock, the 2022 white Saint-Véran Clos des Poncetys perfectly expresses this chalk terroir. The ripe, floral nose, with its restrained oakiness, perfectly embodies its minerality. On the palate, the pleasure of a well-balanced, precise and chiselled Saint-Véran, with an acidic tension brought by the vintage that suits it extremely well. A fine terroir expressed with care, a wine that will age for another 6 to 8 years. Rated 92/100 by the Committee. |
