The estate and the wine |

|
A true Chablis treasure, Estate des Malandes has captivated our Selection Committee! Discovered last year during a visit to Burgundy, this estate has everything to impress: organic farming, impeccable quality, and fair pricing.
The Marchive-Rottiers family is dedicated to crafting precise, pure, and expressive Chablis, each reflecting its unique terroir. No unnecessary intervention—just proven techniques and carefully managed aging in barrels and demi-muids (500L) to refine and elevate these wines for long-term aging. |

The 2023 White Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey is a beautifully ripe Chardonnay, both complex and elegant. With partial aging in oak that remains subtle, it opens with a fresh, iodine-laced profile, layered with concentration and a delicate hint of honey. The palate mirrors this aromatic imprint, delivering a lively, mineral-driven, and exceptionally crisp expression. A standout of the vintage, this wine has a 10-year aging potential and is a perfect match for fine seafood or shellfish. A Selection Committee favorite, rated 93-94/100. |
