The tasting |
Deep ruby colour with purplish highlights. |
| |
Fine and honest on the nose, aromas of blackcurrant, violet, smoke, followed by some graphite, mineral notes. |
| |
On the palate, the wine starts with a clean entry then shows its terroir with a beautiful, fine, elegant tannin texture coated by gentle violet and blackcurrant notes. The finish is long and spicy, but still shows some youth. |

The estate and the wine |
Domaine Jasmin produces terribly elegant Côtes-Rôties, model wines, from 5 hectares of vines. Patrick Jasmin continues the tradition that began 4 generations back on the appellation's steep slopes. Owner of many plots scattered throughout the Côte-Rôtie vineyards, Patrick Jasmin produces from 5 hectares, wines recognized for their elegance and finesse. |

The Côte-Rötie 2008 Red from Domaine Patrick Jasmin expresses a nearly indecent fullness on the palate. The power of the Côte-Rôtie burst out with vigour. The expert hand of the winemaker magnifies both the textures and the Syrah's peppery, smoky notes. The fruit therefore glides on the palate without ever being too much. |
