The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Domaine Jacques Prieur is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious estates, recognized as the only domaine to own a third of the Grands Crus in the Côte d’Or.

At the heart of its success is Nadine Gublin, head winemaker since 1990, whose precise and uncompromising approach has defined the estate’s signature style. Under the ownership of the Labruyère family, the domaine has reached new heights, producing wines that are benchmarks of quality and terroir expression.

Farming organically since 1997 (now certified), the estate’s 30 hectares yield exceptional grapes, crafted into wines with meticulous care. From thoughtful use of oak to refined winemaking techniques, every step is executed to perfection, with Gublin’s expertise adding a unique touch. Domaine Jacques Prieur is more than a reliable choice—it’s a cornerstone of Burgundy’s winemaking heritage.
Wine The 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Red is a wine built for patience, having spent nearly two years aging in barrels. Sourced from a 1.28-hectare parcel in the clay-rich area of the Clos, known as Les 14 Journaux, it showcases remarkable power and refinement. The nose evolves beautifully with aeration, revealing notes of tobacco, licorice, and roasted coffee, followed by ripe yet fresh black fruits such as blackberry, blueberry, and blackcurrant. On the palate, it strikes a masterful balance between strength and nuance, maturity and freshness, with a refreshing hint of acidity. The finish is long and refined, with delicate, spiced tannins and an appealing savory edge. Exceptional aging potential.
Vinification Hand harvested. Vinification in open wooden vats, daily punching of the cap, malolactic fermentation.
Aged in oak barrels for 21 months.
