The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Born in 2017 from a unique human and cultural encounter, crystallized into a project of a new kind, the Kuheiji Estate stands today as one of the most exciting jewels of the Côte de Nuits. Its roots are in Japan: Mr. Kuno, owner of the Kuheiji sake brewery and a great lover of Burgundy, has merged these two worlds where the significance of terroir and fermentation are at the heart of their expression.

Serving as a bridge between Japan and Burgundy, a connection between two cultures, this discreet estate of 2.5 hectares located in Morey-Saint-Denis, managed daily by Hirotaka Ito in organic farming, launches an impeccable range of wines across the finest crus - Meursault, Pommard, Gevrey-Chambertin… - in the pure Burgundian tradition, nurtured by Japanese precision.

The Japanese vision combined with Burgundian expertise thus gives birth to unique, identity-rich wines that are already highly sought after, available exclusively by allocation.
Wine The well-structured 2020 white Auxey-Duresses combines substance and finesse with plenty of body, notes of white fruit and almond, and a touch of biscuits and minerality. This is an educational Chardonnay, lively in its youth, which will gain richness in two or three years, and will be the perfect accompaniment to white meat or fish in cream sauce.
Vinification hand harvested.
