The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Having transitioned from the esteemed dining tables of London to the terroirs of Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière, in the heart of Larzac, Gavin Crisfield makes a spectacular entrance into the Top 10 of the best estates in this coveted region.

Madly in love with the Languedoc terroirs, this former sommelier from Belfast is now fully living his passion. Crisfield quickly showcased the depth of his ambitions, garnering accolades and recognition with a star from the RVF Guide.

With 4.5 hectares of organically cultivated vines, set against a geologically dynamic backdrop of shale, basalt, sandstone, and limestone, Gavin Crisfield conducts precise artisanal work that unapologetically expresses his vision of the terroir. Vinifying instinctively, with heart and talent, he delivers a wine that is a marvelous expression of both fruit and precision.
Wine The 2021 Red Terrasses du Larzac is a robust and energetic wine, with a fine texture, delicate powdery tannins, and enticing aromatics that are simultaneously floral, spicy, and aniseed. This complex wine boasts impressive length, carried by mature and well-integrated aromatic notes, centered around ripe black fruit and subtly refined aging. The 2021 vintage is expertly handled, presenting a wine that is both meaty and easy to digest, finishing with delightful smoky and finely toasted flavors. A reliable choice that continues to thrill us! Rated 93-94/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Harvested by hand, each grape variety is vinified separately, and aged for 18 months in truncated wooden vats for the Syrah, oval foudres for the Carignan and Grenache, and egg-shaped concrete vats for the Cinsault.

Certified organic wine.
