The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine It's the latest discovery of our Selection Committee! The François-Xavier Nicolas Père & Fils winery, based in Orange, France, produces wines that are straightforward in taste and well structured around expressive and delicious flavors of fruit. This is what we are looking for in these southern latitudes: freshness and temperance.

A free thinker and a craftsman at heart, François-Xavier Nicolas has been producing a short range of wines from the south of France for the past ten years, in his own image: sober, elegant, and passionate.
Wine That's everything we like! Rated 90/100 by Parker, the 2019 Red Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Saint-Maurice is a little marvel of sweetness and pure fruit flavors. It offers everything we have the right to expect: expressive aromas of fruit such as red berries and juicy cherry, a beautiful concentration but without any excess of strength, and above all, a lot of finesse, intensity, and freshness. A charming and very pleasant wine, the perfect Côtes-du-Rhône village! A Selection Committee Favorite rated 92/100.
Vinification Hand harvested, traditional vinification. Maceration of 18 days with daily punching down and re-assembly.
Aged for 12 months, partly in barrels, the rest in vats.
