The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Since Isabel Ferrando took the reins in 2002, Domaine Saint-Préfert has become one of the most sought-after and acclaimed names in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Located in the southern part of the appellation, the estate embodies all the hallmarks of excellence: biodynamic farming, massal selection, meticulous vinification with native yeasts, and carefully managed ageing.

The vineyard itself spans nearly all of Châteauneuf’s geological profiles, and Isabel—now joined by her daughter Guillemette—brings incredible energy to her work. The result is red wines of remarkable freshness and elegance, and whites that are every bit as charming—arguably among the very best in the region.
Wine The 2021 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape stands out for its freshness and purity, capturing the essence of the vintage with precision and finesse. Predominantly Grenache (three-quarters of the blend), it reveals aromas of ripe red berries and hints of wild herbs. The palate is lively and supple, framed by fine-grained tannins that offer both structure and elegance. Unlike the more powerful expressions of warmer years, this wine emphasizes clarity and refinement, with a focus on vibrant fruit flavors and a fresh, balanced finish. Its approachable, expressive style makes it a pure pleasure to drink.
Vinification Hand harvested. Saint-Préfert" terroir of rolled pebbles, blue clay, gravel and sand. Aged 18 months in barrels and amphorae.

In 2019, the Estate closed a cycle at Saint-Préfert. This is the last vintage for these 3 Saint-Préfert wines: Classique, Réserve Auguste Favier and Collection Charles Giraud. The estate has decided to create a single Grand Cru at Saint-Préfert, called " Isabel Ferrando Family". 2021 is the first vintage of this "unique" Saint-Préfert red wine.

Estate certified organic by Demeter in 2013 and certified Biodynamic by Demeter in 2021.

Certified organic wine.
