The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine These lands bathed by the Duero River, struck by an austere climate, and shaped by expert hands, forge one of the greatest wines in the world: Vega Sicilia. The Alvarez family has created a myth linking land, time, and man for eternity.

Único, Valbuena, Alión, Pintia, Macán, and Oremus form a family where nothing is left to chance: the barrels are made on the spot, the maturation is infinitely long, some vintages are discarded...

An outstanding level of excellence. A special place in the world's hierarchy of great wines that we illustrate today in six key wines adulated by Parker. Not to be missed!
Wine A subtle blend of the world's best expertise, the 2016 red Toro Pintia is just like Alvarez's signature wines: unapologetic. The old tempranillo vines forge a rich wine of great intensity, punctuated by aromas of black fruits and notes of garrigue and spices. On this atypical vintage, cooler than usual, it takes an almost Rhone Valley style with a touch more freshness, a silky tannin grain, and a long finish. Another great success. Rated 95/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested, aged for 12 months in barrels of which 75% are French and 25% American.
