Our committee's review
David and Sophie Devynck have breathed new life into 4 hectares of old vines in some of the finest southern Burgundy sites. Their Clos Sauvage, perched at 450 meters on granite soils laced with clay-limestone and farmed organically, is a preserved enclave where intense, authentic wines are born.
In 2023, they expanded with a parcel adjoining their own, once tended by the late Denis Jeandeau in the commune of Chasselas, within Saint-Véran. These exceptional soils now honor his legacy while carrying it forward with fresh vision, giving rise to wines of remarkable elegance and precision.
Clos Sauvage is on a meteoric rise. Newly listed in the prestigious French wine guide the RVF, the estate is earning the recognition it deserves. Don’t miss this cuvée that captures the timeless spirit of Burgundy in an accessible and irresistibly delicious form. An allocation-only offer.
From a parcel once meticulously tended by Denis Jeandeau, the 2023 White Saint-Véran Entre Ciel et Terre pays tribute to his legacy with a sleek, graceful wine marked by remarkable tension. This is a vibrant, finely crafted Chardonnay, balancing precision and elegance. Vinified with a focus on purity and finesse, it sees only a quarter of the aging in oak, allowing the terroir to shine. A true favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 93-94/100.
The new star of the Mâconnais, praised by both our Selection Committee and the RVF.
