Wine:

Bordering on perfection, the 2022 Red Corton Grand Cru Les Bressandes presents a sleek, linear structure with a tightly woven core, where the pure, intense essence of the fruit is still palpable, subtly lifted by floral undertones. Despite its depth and concentration, it remains remarkably refined, with precise, ripe tannins that ensure outstanding aging potential. A wine of great nobility and elegance, built to stand the test of time. Rated 99/100 by the French wine guide RVF.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Whole-cluster fermentation, without sulphites, in truncated wooden vats for a period of 15 days to 3 weeks. Aged on lees for 15 to 18 months in 228-litre oak barrels. Bottled at the estate.
Plot of 1.4535 ha. Vines aged 40 years on average. Soil type: clay-limestone. Soil worked entirely by horse.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.

Temperature:

Beef rib in a herb crust, beef cheek with pinot noir, sweetbreads with a simple black truffle jus, rabbit stew, oven-roasted farm-reared guinea fowl.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2042 and beyond for enthusiasts.

At the pinnacle of the Côte de Beaune, Chandon de Briailles is a historic estate awarded three stars by the French wine guide RVF. Known for its precision and purity, it remains steadfast in its commitment to authenticity and terroir-driven expression.

A firm believer in whole-cluster fermentation, the estate embraces a style that gives the wines structure and depth, evolving beautifully with time. It has also fully transitioned its 14 hectares to biodynamic farming, reintroducing horse-drawn plowing to preserve soil health and enhance vineyard vitality.

With a confident, time-honored approach, Chandon de Briailles crafts some of Burgundy’s most refined and age-worthy wines, built to develop gracefully over the years.
