Derived from a hot and dry year, the 2019 red Rioja Macan Clasico delivers a powerful, perfectly ripe, and concentrated wine. Pure tempranillo crafted in the Bordeaux style, vinified and aged in tanks and barrels for one year, it retains beautiful freshness and velvety tannins in an ideal balance. Everything here has been designed to preserve maximum softness and smoothness, avoiding the pitfalls of a hot vintage; the result is more than successful! The juicy texture, the finesse of the tannins, and the perfect ripeness form an absolutely irresistible ensemble. Rated 93+/100 by Parker.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Vines approximately 31 years old. Traditional vinification, malolactic fermentation in barrels and vats. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, mostly new wood, the remainder in one-wine barrels, then in bottle until marketed.

Color:

Deep, intense, brilliant red.

Nose:

Complex bouquet of red fruits, blackberries, morello cherries and plums, with a hint of spice and light roasting.

Palate:

A powerful tannic structure with ripe fruit flavors and delicate notes of graphite and sweet spices, all on a long, persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Sautéed venison with mashed potatoes, grilled chicken skewer with red bell pepper, beef tenderloin with puff pastry crust.
